Nadi Sightseeing from Fiji Marriott Momi Bay - Temple, Markets, Orchids and Mud Pools
If you’re staying at Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay and want a proper day out of the resort, this tour makes sense. Momi Bay sits further from Nadi than the Denarau strip — closer to the Mamanuca Islands than to the city — which means any Nadi sightseeing tour has a longer transfer component built into the day. This tour is priced and paced accordingly.
The stops are the same Nadi highlights that every land-based sightseeing tour covers: the Sri Siva Subramaniya Temple, local markets, the Garden of the Sleeping Giant, and the Sabeto mud pools. Coming from Momi Bay, you’re looking at roughly six hours door-to-door, which includes the drive in each direction.

The drive in context
Momi Bay is approximately 35–40 minutes from Nadi by road. That’s 70–80 minutes of driving round-trip before you count time at any of the stops. The drive itself is pleasant — Fiji’s western coastline, cane fields, villages, and eventually the Nadi Valley — and a good guide makes it more interesting with commentary. But it’s worth setting expectations: this is a day out of the resort with a bit of scenery woven in, not a compact half-day.
The stops
Sri Siva Subramaniya Temple
Fiji’s largest Hindu temple, at the southern end of Nadi town. The gopuram entrance tower is hand-painted with Hindu mythological figures — craftsmen brought from South India did the work, and the level of detail is extraordinary. The temple serves Nadi’s Indo-Fijian community actively; expect incense, quiet ceremony, and a genuine place of worship rather than a heritage display.
Shoes off, covered shoulders and knees, no photography during active puja. Allow 15 minutes.
Nadi markets
Depending on your operator’s itinerary, this is either the Nadi Municipal Market (produce, kava, seasonal fruit — genuinely interesting with a good guide) or a souvenir/handicraft stop. Make your preference clear at the start: if you’d rather see the working market than the souvenir market, say so. Either way, allow 15–20 minutes.
Garden of the Sleeping Giant
Raymond Burr’s 2,000+ orchid collection, opened to the public after 1993. A flat, shaded walk through orchid houses, lily ponds, and tropical garden paths in the Sabeto Valley with the mountain ridgeline above. The cold tropical fruit drink served at the end of the walk is a consistently appreciated touch. Allow 40–45 minutes.
Sabeto hot springs and mud pools
Apply the grey mineral mud, let it dry in the sun, rinse off, soak. Three words that consistently come up in Sabeto reviews: unexpected, genuine, and memorable. The site is managed by a local village family which keeps it from feeling like a packaged attraction. The final soaking pools run hot — start gently.
Bring: old swimwear, a towel, a change of clothes, and a dry bag for your phone. The grey mud stains permanently.

FAQs
Does the drive from Momi Bay change anything about the experience?
The stops are identical to the Nadi/Denarau version of this tour. The difference is time: you’re in the vehicle longer at the start and end of the day, and the guide has more road time to fill with commentary about the landscapes and communities you’re passing. Guests staying at Momi Bay sometimes find this the most contextualising part of their stay — seeing how Fiji’s coast looks beyond the resort.
Is there time for lunch?
Not formally — but the Nadi town or markets stop typically allows enough time for a quick café or takeaway. Ask your guide for a recommendation in advance so you know where you’re headed.
Pickup from Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay and Momi Bay-area properties. Confirm entry fee inclusions at booking.
