Malamala Beach Club Half Day Pass Snorkeling Denarau Mamanuca Islands

The half-day pass to Malamala Beach Club is the right format for guests who want a taste of the island without committing a full day: pool time, snorkelling, a drink from the bar, and the ferry ride through the Mamanucas — in roughly four hours on the island before returning to Port Denarau in the afternoon.

It’s a particularly practical option for arrival days (you’ve already flown enough, just want something beautiful), departure eve days (need to be back in Nadi by evening), or as an afternoon add-on when mornings are already booked.

At a glance

  • Available for: Nadi, Denarau, and Wailoaloa guests only. Coral Coast, Natadola, Momi Bay, and Sonaisali guests must book the full-day format.
  • Ferry to island: approximately 9:30am–10:00am from Port Denarau (confirms at booking)
  • Ferry return: afternoon departure — confirm exact time with South Sea Cruises at booking
  • Island time: approximately 3.5–4 hours
  • Contact South Sea Cruises at least 24 hours before your activity date to confirm and arrange transport
  • Operated by: South Sea Cruises

What’s included

  • Return high-speed catamaran ferry from Port Denarau
  • Return coach transfers from most Nadi, Denarau, and Wailoaloa-area hotels
  • Use of non-motorised water sports equipment: snorkelling gear, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards (subject to availability)
  • One towel per person
  • Complimentary Wi-Fi (may be slower on high-volume days)

What’s not included

Food and drinks are purchased using a TAB card issued at check-in. All purchases are placed on the card and settled before the return ferry. The kitchen and bar are open all day — the half-day format still gives you full access to the à la carte menu and bar.

No outside food or alcohol is permitted on the island.

Making the most of four hours

The main pool is the most in-demand spot on the island and fills quickly on busy days. Reviewers on the half-day format specifically note that arriving and claiming a pool position early is the difference between getting in the water and watching from the edge. With only four hours on the island, there’s no time to wait and see — move directly to the pool or beach on arrival and secure your spot.

Suggested half-day order for most guests: pool first if that’s your priority → snorkel or paddleboard → settle into a sun lounger → one good lunch item or platter → return ferry.

Upgrades (optional, book in advance)

Poolside Day Bed, Beachside Cabana with butler service, and Grand Cabana options are available at additional cost. These are worth booking in advance if the half-day is when you’re going — you don’t want to arrive and find them taken.

Practical notes

Footwear: reef shoes or water socks are recommended. The beach has coarse coral sand and shell material that some guests find sharp underfoot.

Children: infants under 3 are free (must be advised at booking). Children 4 and older are charged at the adult rate.

Credit card surcharge: 2.5–3% non-refundable administration fee applies to credit and international debit card bookings.

FAQs

Why can’t Coral Coast guests book the half-day?

Coach transfer logistics: Coral Coast transfers connect with specific ferry departure and return times, and the schedule only works with the full-day format. If you’re staying on the Coral Coast and want Malamala, book the full-day pass.

Is four hours enough time at Malamala?

For most guests who want snorkelling, pool time, and one good meal, yes. For guests who want to fully explore the island, do multiple water activities, use a cabana, and stay until the afternoon sun has moved — the full day is the better call. The half-day works best when you have a clear plan for how you’re spending those four hours.

Operated by South Sea Cruises. Check-in at South Sea Cruises counter, Passenger Terminal, Port Denarau. Contact at least 24 hours before your activity date to confirm transport.
